I love visiting Dr. Galaxy. Obviously, this wasn’t his real name, but I liked to call him Dr. Galaxy. Not just because of his constellation themed office decor but the fact that he could talk about anything in the universe.
From mice to spice to ice, about fashion and food, whether politics or plays or pillars or plough. He had an anecdote or a sarcastic comment or a story, quote or even, a song for any situation.
Dr Galaxy was patient and kind. Most importantly, he could be trusted– the reason why I liked him. He would as easily speak to a reticent seven year old girl as he would converse with a fifty year old arrogant man. Why, he could make a malicious lady in her thirties open up about her abusive childhood; just as he could empathise with a veteran about the trauma sustained during his tours.
And just like me, each of them liked Dr Galaxy. But which of these mind-sharers did Dr Galaxy like the best?
Inspired by Michelle at Putting My Feet in the Dirt’s August Writing Prompt- Dr. Galaxy. (…set your timer for ten minutes and begin writing about one of the prompts. Don’t worry about spelling, punctuation, neatness, or anything like that; just write! Write about anything and everything that comes to your mind, and don’t stop until the ten minutes are up.)
Other prompt: Word of the Day– Trust
