Colours of Cosmos #WDYS

Written for Sadje’s What Do You See #47. Does this picture inspire you to write something?

I’ve experimented while writing this poem and in each line, I’ve tried to include a word starting with ‘C’
Looking at this picture, I imagined the colours as though they were born from white and black; painting the world in their myriad hues.

At the dawn of Creation
Chaos reigned supreme;
And into the cosmic vacuum
Darkness came alive.

Then calmness spread to corners
Answering silence’s call;
Catastrophe averted
Consonance carved new paths.

The Light came forth
A contrast to its shadowy surroundings;
And colours were born
Companions to each and all.

Crawling through crevices
They painted canvas bleak;
Crossing the ink splashed space
Converged upon our world,
Covered in crimson, bright blues and muddy browns.

Touching the new creatures born
Caressing them with pretty hues;
Colourful creations found abound
Cradled in the cosmos, infinite.
