Share Your World #9

Share Your World 9-21-2020 is hosted by Melanie and Roger has posed the questions for the Harry Potter segment. This week we visit “HP And The Deathly Hallows”.

Roger’s Magical, Mystical Questions

Have you ever driven the wrong way on a one-way street? How did this come about?

I wasn’t driving, but our cab took a turn into a ‘one-way’ street in Kolkata (my hometown) and we were stopped by the traffic police. Mom had forgotten that after 1 pm that road became one way, but I don’t know why the cab driver deliberately took that turn, being a resident of the city.

As a kid, did you ever decide to run away? Did you have a plan? Take a pet? Sandwiches?

Yes, I did think of it. I would often think of different plans (detailed ones) to escape when the tension in my family turned unbearable. Sometimes to a very dear family friend’s house, other times to my maternal grandparents’ house in Kolkata.
But I never did run away.

You suddenly found you have a hidden talent for playing a musical instrument. What musical instrument do you hope that accompanies your talent? Any particular song?

I learnt to play the flute while in school, but I wish I could play the piano. It’s a wonderful and elegant instrument. I would love to play any song that caught my fancy.

Do you accessorize with jewelry? There was an opal necklace (cursed) and Slytherin’s locket (also cursed) in the Potter story. Have you had any heirloom jewelry passed down through the generations? Is it more ‘keepsake’ or do you wear it on occasion? (Hopefully, yours was not cursed?)

There are three pieces of jewellery I always wear- 2 rings in each hand and a silver anklet on my right ankle. But they were a gift from my mother and nani (grandma). I don’t have any jewellery that was passed through the generations. Otherwise, I don’t wear much jewellery.
And in India, often girls get a lot of heirloom jewellery when they get married.

Melanie’s Ordinary Muggle Questions

What ingredients go into YOUR favorite salad?

I like Chicken Caesar salad, so the usual ingredients.
For a fruit salad, I would like pomegranates, pineapples, apples, blueberries, strawberries and a little bit of honey drizzled on top.

If you care to, share something that really irritates you.

Hypocrisy. I hate it when people say & believe in something so much that they preach about it, but do something completely different.

What are your favorite ‘lounging around the house’ items of clothing?  Now that a lot of people ‘lounge around the house’ waiting for the all clear in respect to Covid being shown the door, have those lounging items changed?

Shorts and a baggy t-shirt. My comfy wear from the pre-Covid days.

    You learnt flute 😍 wowziee
    I’d love to learn flute.
“Aren’t all humans hypocrite on some level” was my first thought but then its about the intensity with which one preaches things that one does not care to follow.🦋I ultimately agree with the hypocrite point😎.
    Shorts+Baggy Tee = Spot on!

Thank you for this amazing comment! 💙
Loved your replies. And yes, we are hypocrites on some level but in a small scale. Some people take it to the extreme.
And our friendship is a blessing! ❤️
Thank you once again, my dear 🤗

  2. Thank you Priya for Sharing Your World! You are an amazing person as your friend mentions! That fruit salad sounds wonderful, and I like the idea of drizzling honey over it rather than some higher calorie dressing or whipped topping. I like my fruit salad tossed with lemon juice and a little sugar and obviously fresh fruit. Canned will do in a pinch, but fresh is so much tastier! Your lounging clothes sound very comfortable and it’s comfort that is key when lounging…. well so I think! Have a great week!

    1. Thank you so much Melanie! 🤗💚
I too, like fresh fruit salad better than canned ones. ☺️
And comfort should considered when donning or buying lounge-wear. Who cares about looking stylish when at home? 😜
