Written for Saturday Mix- Rhyme Time, hosted by Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie.
‘Rhyme Time’ focuses on the use of rhyme to build your writing piece. You will be given six rhyming words and need to use all of them (but not limited to these) in your response, which should be a poetry form of your choice.
Our rhyming words this week are:
batch
catch
hatch
match
patch
thatch
Carefully balanced on my thatch
I wait to red-handed catch,
Him with his lovely match
To whom he had latch.
With no hope of a patch
I sat back to hatch,
A poisonous plan to dispatch
The man she had snatch.
I made a choco-cookie batch
And a congratulatory note I attach
Then gift it after their klatch.
I smile and idly scratch
And remain detach,
As I’m rid of this pair of mismatch.
So, am I just a crosspatch?
Thatch- a roof of straw, reed and similar materials.
Crosspatch- a bad-tempered person, grouchy.
