Share Your World #15

Melanie in her post Share Your World 31-5-2021 has asked some interesting questions.

What activity instantly calms you?

Reading! I get immersed into the world of the protagonist and it diverts my mind from whatever had been troubling me.

What’s the most spontaneous thing you’ve done lately?

I had been thinking of taking up blogging and reviving CQC for some time, but kept procrastinating. On 27th, I just wrote a post and published it before I could chicken out. Now, I’m feeling good to be back on blogosphere.

If people receive a purple heart for bravery, what would other color hearts represent? (Example yellow heart = cowardice)

Red ❤️= For people whose discoveries/ inventions save lives
Orange 🧡= For political and social activists whose contributions have helped improve society
Yellow 💛= For those writers and educators who help shape our future
Green 💚= For the environmentalists
Blue 💙= For the Corona warriors
White 🤍= For those who seek peace

A special one
Black 🖤= For those despicable humans who have the gall to publicly claim their immoral actions as ‘in public interest’ or ‘for public welfare’

What is the bravest thing you’ve ever done or witnessed someone else do?

Speaking up against abuse, even saying it out loud to accept it as part of your past or present is difficult. But it was liberating once I did it (though it might take some moments to let that feeling sink in). And if faced with disbelief or are dismissed, I found my conviction strengthened and efforts redoubled.

Gratitude Section

I’m so happy and thankful that my family having battled covid, have recovered quite well. 😊

How do you show gratitude to the people you respect?

I believe that words and action are equally important to show one’s gratitude. Along with thanks and hugs, doing small things for them selflessly goes a long way.

  1. Thanks, Priya for Sharing Your World. I’m very glad to see you back again and hope you are well! What great answers you gave! The heart colors are very good choices, and the black heart is one that too many ‘public servants’ have, unfortunately. I’m glad your family came through Covid too! Have a wonderful weekend!

    1. Thanks a lot, Melanie 😊 It feels good to be back.
I agree, these public servants deserve recognition for the ‘wonderful job’ they’re doing.
      Have a good one!

  2. I love black. Unfortunately, it’s too much injustice to the colour!

I appreciate your decision to raise voice against abuse, Priya. It has to be done at the right time.

    1. It’s my favorite too, but I wanted something to mark those who actually have the blackest of hearts.
It’s important, but so difficult sometimes. Each indifference & disbelief hurts, especially since it’s personal.
      Thanks for reading, Anisha 🙂
