Sammi Cox is the host for the Weekend Writing Prompt where we have to write a prose/poem within the specified wordcount. The theme this week is Crescendo– 37 words.

When twilight whispers and evening rants became midnight's shout for justice;
men in towers planned their feasts, other's plight ignored.
As voices reached new crescendo, dragons were flown to paint the world,
in fire and blood galore.
The dragon symbolises all the draconian measures (from put behind bars to branded traitor or assassinated) undertaken by these men in power to curb the voices that critique and demand the rights that were promised to all.

Insightful and poigant

Wow. Such a deep story. I love how you explained that the dragon signifies the draconian measures. Great take on the prompt, Priya

Thanks a ton, Shweta for this lovely comment 🤩
Questioning voices are the foundation of any democracy, they shouldn’t be forcefully silenced.

True. It wouldn’t really be a democracy if all and any questioning voices were silenced.
